Nanoose Bay
Nanoose Bay, located 26 km north of Nanaimo, offers visitors a quaint commercial hub ideal for a coffee break, breathtaking views and scenic parks. Moorecroft Regional Park is a popular destination for bird-watching, hiking, and diving.
Parksville
Parksville has been called Canada's Riviera and with good reason! Few beaches outside Mexico and the Caribbean compare with the kilometres of near perfect sandy beaches at Parksville Bay and Rathtrevor Beach Provincial Park.
Fanny Bay
This tiny oceanside community is well known for its oysters, and visitors are often seen searching the shores with pails. Head to one of the local restaurants to savour these gourmet treats without the search. A ferry terminal 4 km north of Fanny Bay connects travelers with Denman and Hornby Islands.
Cumberland
Cumberland was once a bustling coal mining community. Now known for its heritage buildings and beautiful scenery, Cumberland takes visitors back in time through its museum and guided tours of the village.
Campbell River
Billed as central Vancouver Island’s gateway to epic outdoor adventures, Campbell River offers a variety of activities from hiking and biking to cold water diving. Campbell River is also a popular fishing destination, known as the ‘Salmon Capital of the World.’
