Sea to Sky

The Sea to Sky corridor reaches from metropolitan Vancouver in the south to the farming community of Pemberton in the North. This scenic region is also home to the world-class ski resort of Whistler, the Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada Squamish, historic Britannia Beach, the waterfront Porteau Cove Provincial Park, and the seaside villages of Lions Bay and Horseshoe Bay.

North Vancouver

Hosting the largest shipyard in Canada in the early 1900’s, this former marine industrial hub of Vancouver has transformed into a modern, yet trendy community in North Vancouver. Lower Lonsdale, or the Shipyard district as it is known, offers a family oriented hub for restaurants and shopping. Or, if you’re up for a thrill, step along the Capilano Suspension Bridge, swinging 135m/450ft above ground. Further along the road, Skyride will take you up Grouse Mountain where you’ll enjoy endless mountain adventures.

North Vancouver Highlights

West Vancouver

Cypress Mountain viewpoints offer breathtaking panoramic views of the Lower Mainland. It’s an ideal place to watch the sunrise or sunset or grab a snack at the Pop-Up Village before venturing onto the 200-metre long Illuminated Trestle Bridge. If you prefer something closer to the water enjoy the 2.8 mile (6,500 step) scenic stroll along the West Vancouver Seawall.

Horseshoe Bay

The gateway to Howe Sound, the Sunshine Coast and central Vancouver Island, Horseshoe Bay is a quaint and picturesque seaside village on the North Shore of Vancouver. Dig into crispy fish ‘n’ chips and watch the ferries sailing into port, or enjoy a great family rest stop while enjoying the waterfront playground.

Britannia Beach

Located just 10 minutes south of Squamish is the village of Britannia Beach, once home to the largest copper producing mine in the British Commonwealth. Now a National Historic Site, Britannia Mine showcases the history of the mine and the area. Board a mining train and travel deep into an old mining tunnel. Pan for gold, engage in the interactive exhibits, or relax and refuel at the Chatterbox cafe.

Squamish

Squamish, nestled within a temperate rain forest, is billed as the ‘Outdoor Recreation Capital of Canada’. World-class trails, rock climbing parks, consistent wind patterns for the avid kite and wind surfer, wildlife, and backcountry splendour, attracts enthusiasts of all ages. The food and beverage scene coupled with local artisans makes Squamish a sought-after community to both visit and live.

Whistler

Arguably the most famous mountain town in North America, Whistler is consistently ranked one of the top four-season resorts and it’s easy to see why.
